looking for punch(taverns) handbook for employees

I am currently of work sick, and need to know about punch taverns sickness benefit policy. I have worked in the same place for 10 years now, and originally we were owned by 'spirit' then 'scottish & newcastle' and now 'punch'. I am hoping that the policy is the same as it was for 'scottish & newcastle', if anyone has a copy of punch's handbook, i would be ever so grateful if you could let me know what it says about sickness benefit.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but i was unsure where to put my question.

Can you not ask your HR department for a staff handbook?
Were you TUPE'd from one employer to the other - I believe this means that your T&Cs remain the same despite your employer changing.

I think the OP wants a copy of the new (i.e. the Punch Tavern) handbook to see if the sickness policy is the same as the one which Scottish and Newcastle had.

To the OP: this may be helpful to you (opens into a pdf.)

it doesn't say what the policy is but does state that employees are tupe'd when taking over a new pub.

Thanks for the replies, i have the terms and conditions handbooks for spirit, and scottish & newcastle, i have my original contract from 10 years ago, although with my job (waitress/barperson) hours change according to the seasons. We were tupe'd, so i am hoping that sickness benefit policy is the same as spirit and s&n - we were never given handbooks by punch taverns (the h/r department is impossible to get through to).

I'll keep my fingers x'd that everything remains the same, contract wise.

In these circumstances where there have been take-overs, it is not unusual for different groups within the same employing organisation to have different T&C's owing to the operation of TUPE.

You have the handbook of the previous employer, so you should assume that those sickness benefit terms apply as you were tupe'd to the current employer with your t&c's intact, and you have never been advised of any changes to your original T&C's. You only have a problem if your employer wishes to argue that different t&c's now apply, so I would wait and see what happens first.
