Fire Service mortgages???

Hello everyone,
Me and my fiance are currently looking to get our first mortgage, and are struggling to gain such a large deposit. My fiance is in the fire service, and we have heard about reduced mortgages/lower rate mortgages for those in public services. But are unable to find any information on it, and who to go to to speak to?
I wondered whether anyone on here had any information of advice for us?

If a lower rate is available details should be on the FBU website, or ask the shop steward..................
