    But I wasn't trying to frighten the OP or even disagree with you.

    In his original post, the OP explained that "the whole process is a big unknown" to him. So telling him that "If you want to stay in the house for more than a couple of years then [loosing equity] may not matter" needed a bit of clarification, I felt.

    Strongly echo your advice not to just rely on Internet 'experts' who don't know you too.
