Forget straighteners, I got a 'Brazilian Blow Dry' and ever since I haven't needed to use my GHDs once (and I honestly used to straighten my hair once or twice a day for about 8 years - it used to be so bad!) now all I do is wash and blow dry it and it looks like it did after I had straightened it.
The treatment cost about £160 but since then all I have needed is the shampoo (which has just run out and I got it at the beginning of August - it was included in the cost of the treatment, as was a free blow dry once the product had been in for the three days it takes to 'heal' your hair). I haven't needed straighteners, heat protection, and your hair doesn't even need conditioner - just the shampoo and the brush will run straight through your hair after. But most of all, it has saved me so much time! The last thing I want to do is get up half an hour early because I know I need to straighten my hair in the morning :)

The treatment is supposed to last about 16 weeks, I had mine done in August and still doesn't need re-doing. Sorry, I'm probably rambling as I'm quite tired, but if anyone wants any more info please ask, otherwise google it, there are lots of videos on youtube of before and after the treatment. Although there is a high initial cost, the amount of time it saves (and bit of money) makes it worth every penny.

-And Groupon often do deals for hairdressers that do the blow drys, I picked up a voucher for £69 so am saving this for when it next needs doing

    HTH someone!
  • i had the wide plate version of these and they were fab- picked them up for a bargain £30. but then they got damaged (me being clumsy), so after i heard people going on about6 ghds i bought one for £120 and have found them to be not as effective of my old wet2straight :(
:confused:I say im a moneysaver, my family think im a cheapskate!

I've got these and think they are brilliant. I've got long, very dry, frizzy hair.

I got these for Christmas, love them! Brilliant! And super fast heat up, much quicker than my old wet2straight ones. Though disappointed they cost £29.99 only a few weeks ago, but thats the sales for you!
  • These are also £19.99 on the Comet website, and you can get 3% Quidco from Comet:T

Are these quick? Anything that takes more than 10 minutes to use, I tend to just leave in the closet.

Is this what is also called a permanent blow dry, the thing where they use formaldehyde? I couldn't find anywhere that did one when I had decided to try it (despite the chemicals), but don't know if I looked for it as the "Brazilian blow dry".
