Does your child like cheese? I have a fussy child and a favourite meal of his is pasta, chopped up hot dog sausages and sweetcorn, mixed with a little tomato mascarpone sauce. The trick is I cover it with grated cheese so he doesn't notice the sauce as much.It's nice to be importantbut important to be nice0

I have to force-feed the Pitstop Gang pretty regularly but they're used to it :-)
How about some homemade burgers? They could be made out of turkey mince if someone doesn't like beef mince. Similarly, meatballs? Cous cous is filling and healthy and can be more flavoursome with the addition of some veg and can go with the meatballs if the traditional tommie sauce/spaghetti is out of the question.
Or how about something like toad-in-the-hole? It can be eaten by itself or with veg, add gravy if you like it, without inflicting essential gravy on anyone else!
I also like a veggie stir fry - easy to do with any meat that the awkward one likes this week, or no meat at all so you can add meat/sauce later for your own meal. Great with noodles or egg-rice. Vary the veg and meat and you can do the same meal several times with each one seeming like a different meal.
How does he do with soups? You could make a large batch and freeze easily, which would be good if you are planning up to a month ahead.
Other than that: Shepherd's pie (with turkey mince) / bangers and mash / giant tomatoes or peppers stuffed with rice and veg / pittas stuffed with salad and homous...
Or another favourite: chicken and chips!
Now I'm hungry....

my son (will be 18 on 26th jan) also doesnt like sauce or gravy so when i make a stew i use a slotted spoon to pull out the contents without the sauce and serve it with some potatoes and extra veg

2) cauliflower cheese with bit of meat on the side
3) courgette and bacon frittata
4) eggs and chips
5) macaroni cheese with broccoli
6) spaghetti carbonara with bacon
7) roast dinner
8) Thai red curry (with the chicken leftovers)
9) Tuna bake
10) veggie lasagna
hhhmm im sure theres lots more,
the baked potatoe you could have once a week with something different on top,
how much chicken would he eat?
11) tuna pasta salad (lots of peppers/onion etc) & bread?
12) cheese toastie with salad or colsaw or crisps
13) chicken curry
14) spag bol (made with quorn perhaps)
15) veggie sausages with mash & beans or peas
16) jacket potatoe with cheese & salad
17) omelette
18) chicken salad sandwhich & crisps
19) chicken wings with rice
20) toad in the hole with veg (could be veggie sausages)
21) home made soup (leek and potatoe / pea / carrot )
22) jacket potatoe (again but with something else on top ravioli? )

25) chicken wrapped in parma ham with selection of veg

27) lentil soup & bread
28) sausage curry (like chicken curry but cut up sausages) with rice
29) jacket potatoe with tuna-mayo & salad

31) veggie pasta ( if he likes lasagna what about a different kind of
pasta mixed with the veg & sauce from the lasagna then a bit of cheese on top )
32) chilli but made with quorn served with rice
just any any order but the above might help,
we also have things like stews, mince n dumplins, mince n mash,
lamb, cant think what else right now,
porridge for breakfast
sarnie for dinner
home made cakes / savoury bites for snacks,
hope that helps, im finding it hard to keep my hubby full at the minute and not much qulity in the supermarkets, will be trying out the local butchers next,

It took up to thirteen years - seriously - of regularly cooking things my husband didn't like - including shepherds' pie (yes the meat and potato served separately was fine - I refused to do that) pasta (that's all types) any thai style food, cabbage.
11 years for pasta, 12 for shepherds' pie and fish, 13 for cabbage and thai food
I made lots of things I know he liked, but at least twice a week there'd be a main course he wasn't partial to - he'd have to make himself a cheese sandwich or sulk - neither of which had any effect on me! For the first few years he wasn't 'teasable' about it, but slowly slowly realised he was the one being a bit childish by refusing to try things, not me being childish by insisting on cooking stuff. As he slowly tried things he began to see the silly side of his eating habits.
Let's just say his mother is not a natural cook and put him off an awful lot of food!
He still doesn't like some fish - salmon fresh or smoked, but that doesn't affect my food shopping choices one iota.
By the way, the cabbage thing - he thought it was something called "garlic-buttered greens" until he'd had at least two portions and I mentioned my 'triumph' in the cabbage war - not that I'm childish or anything, but I'm fairly sure the official family dance-of-triumph was done around the dining table for a while. How I looooove to win!0 -
ooo brill thread im always looking for inspiration!
One simple dish I like to do is chicken mornay which is basicaly chicken in cheese sauce. I season the chicken breasts and add a little butter and cook in the oven for 20mins. Meanwhile I make the cheese sauce for quickness i use a white sauce mix and add grated cheese and a tiny dash of Worcestershire sauce. Take out the chicken after 20mins and turn over and add the cheese sauce. Cook for a further 10mins. Serve with new potatoes and veg. Make sure you stir the cheese sauce well getting all the lovely chicken juices mixed in tastes yummy!:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0
