sorry to take up space but I just need to let it out

Hi
Sorry to take up space on the message board but Im having a really bad day today, nothing really to set it off ! apart from the CAB website told me my local one was open at 10am today so raced off up town (12miles away) parked early stood outside the door at 9.45am to read the sign open Monday tues and thursdays only!!!
as some of you know Im filling out the forms for my everso laid back would fall over never worry about anything OH.
and Im getting myself in a right stress over it all. Mainly cos I keep finding things that I think they will pull us up about, and if I could just explain then I think that would be ok but cos he gonna be the one explaining and he a one word answer kinda person I think Oh they gonna have a field day with us.
Im trying to hide it all from my 9yr old as well he quite smart and I don't want him worrying.
Im panicking about the car (cos I need it ) and its the best thing we ve ever had! my mum gave me some money towards it as she hated our rust heaps but I would never be able to afford to buy it from the OR.

Im worried when they take the computer what about all the personal info on it you hear all these stories about info people can get off it

Im worried about our holiday which has been planned and booked for Over a year and half now and was really an extravagance but I managed to pay mine and my sons fares from selling on ebay but OH put his on CC!so not gonna look good.

Im worried whether we should tell the creditors what we doing as its gonna be new year/feb before we have the court fees?

Im worried about the paypal amounts that have gone into his bank account and they ll wanna know stuff about them and selling on ebay

Im worried about going to prison for lying.
Im worried they wont understand a daft woman can give her OH the shopping money to go drinking with..
OOOO so much ! I just want out of it all.
I can't talk to him he just says don't keep going on or I wont bother doing it !

sorry all
Ive let it out now
Really sorry to take up space as I know people have important stuff they need to ask but just had to say it to someone ! it was meant to be the CAB today!

    Oh bless you,

Your computer can be formatted so no details are left on the hard drive, so dont worry about that. Whi is going to take it anyway ?

The CAB are a nightmare for opening times, I think you should complain to them when you finally have your appointment.

With regards your oh, he sounds a bit of a pratt, there isnt much you can do about his attitude towards your financial position. Just put yourself and your son first, if oh isnt giving a stuff then why should you about him ? ( I know thats easier said than done!)

Chin up, everyone comes on here to rant so dont give yourself something else to worry about !

    Hi Goonergirl,

Don't apologise for taking up space - this forum is about supporting each other, and  posts are a big part of that!

As for your worries - if you can prove you need the car then they won't take it off you, though I think that if it's an expensive one they will expect you to downgrade somewhat - but if that happens you need to ensure that you're getting something that is safe for you and your passengers.

Not sure what happens with computers, but unless it's a brand spanking new one, top of the range it's not actually going to be worth much, so thy might not take it away at all. I should think though that you're within your rights to expect a trained PC person to wipe the memory of it, or if that's not possible for the hard drive to be left with you.

Sending you a hug :grouphug: it's annoying with the CAB thing, but hopefully you can get there tomorrow to talk to them. Good luck with everything and feel free to rant whenever you need to

If this is a concern that unfortunately starts to rear it's ugly head then there are ways to ensure that noone this side of the NSA can get your data back (and even then they're struggling). See here for some potential solutions:

  • You worry too much. You need to use all the 'worrying' energy and put it towards working out how to resolve your problems.

There are always people who can help, you just have to ask.

  • goonergirl, stop panicking! I understand the oh drinks the shopping money, been there and done that, got the tshirt! (then divorced him but thats another story) You could try payplan or CCS but if you go to the CAB and explain oh's reluctance they may be able to work with you especially if he gives consent. As I said before don't panic, CAB will advise you and guide you through the process, think I'm right in saying that no-one will come and take anything if you are sorting things out with CAB and it is rarely beneficial to companies to take goods from you when they can get money from you (even small payments). So chin up ,you've come to the right place and you have many friends on here who will help when they can.

Don't panic, the CAB aren't going to take anything off you! If you're talking about going bankrupt, then yes you will need to go through these things. But from the experiences people on this board have had, it's a reasonable process, they're not out to strip you bare. If you need the car, you'll get to keep the car, same with the computer (which can be wiped anyway, nobody will steal your identity!).

I think you're jumping the gun a bit here - don't panic! I suspect when you actually get to talk to them you'll be much more relieved! When they're doing a budget for you, they tend to be rather more generous in terms of food allowances etc than what a lot of people on this board can get by on!
