A guy called to buy a mountain bike of me that I hadn't advertised. He asked for a go on it without a helmet on and i said he would be better not without one. He said he was a 'proficient rider', promptly got on it and fell off at walking pace. He picked himself up ,said the bike wasn't for him and left. I have just received a solicitors letter claiming for a broken back, ankles, concussion and loss of earnings from the fall on my property. Anybody any idea where I stand on this. What do I do? very stressed.

As far as the law goes regarding this i'm not sure. (sorry)
But sounds to me like a complete chancer i.e. He knew exactly what he was doing. He is claiming for broken ankles/back but yet he got up and walked away?!? Are there any witnesses to this?'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

Erm.
a - if you didn't advertise it - how did he know it was for sale?
b - if he broke his back, how did he walk away?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

When you say "just" do you mean today  as there were no postal deliveries today and I don't know of any solicitors operating over the Xmas/New Year holidays ?????
