Roast Potatoes & Tin Foil

Happy New Year everyone.
My roasting tin is a bit scored and scratched and I need to make roast potatoes today. I have goose fat to roast them in.
Would it be ok to line the tin with tin foil to stop the potatoes sticking to the tin? I can only find info saying you shouldn't cover them with tinfoil as they will go soggy. But would lining the tin be ok?
TIA.
