its offline on that link for me too .My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly
Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx0 -
Thanks, don't know what's going on there, I always save comps I fancy into my favourites and enter them in date order, I've had a few today that show that page, it's never happened before.
Edit: Just found the comp, it was merged, normally it just says that they can't find the page, don't know why it's saying MSE is offline today.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I reckon it is because less people enter competitions for music concerts etc. If you like Jazz, you wouldn't enter a competition to win tickets to a rock festival and vice versa. Then, even if it is the type of music that you like, you need to be able to get there on the day that they are giving tickets for, so might have to think about taking time off work etc. Then you might have to pay your own travel costs and hotel accommodation etc, which might put some people off.
Whereas most people would probably enter a competition to win a laptop, phone or ipad. Even CD's, or DVD's, you could probably find a friend or relative to give it to for Christmas or birthday. These are going to be delivered straight to your door. If you like Indie music, then you can't really go wrong by keep on entering the ticket comps.
If you have a look at how many people have hit the thanks button for any given competition, it gives you an idea of how popular the competition is. I bet some of the ones that you have won, other people have never even heard of the groups and wouldn't dream of entering.0 -
Hey, I was wondering if anyone else has won just win's of one type. I have won 10 gig tickets since I've joined this site, and am now really confused why. I haven't won anything else
So don't worry... now I'm going through a lean spell and not won a bean yet this year! lol.£2021 in 2021... £253.86/£20210 -
Hi, I just wanted to say that I'm at a loss to explain where these calls are coming from as I haven't actually posted this comp from Love Offers on the board, although it is on the website. (I knew with the hamper comp in December that people were getting calls despite ticking no to a quote ) It's been posted from a couple of the other linked Dennis publishing sites though, with a warning, but fnc83 who got in touch with me by pm about the call hadn't entered through either of these, and it remains a mystery. As fnc says, removing your phone number should hopefully stop it happening in future (so long as you don't then enter on another Dennis site where you have to put your phone number in, unfortunately, Love Offers is the only one with a log in)
I'm really sorry my posts are causing problems. I've always been a bit wary about posting these kind of ones, and do always stick a warning in, but for future I'm just going to stop posting these altogether and stick to the normal Dennis ones, as they're covered by their own privacy policy, and no one to my knowledge has had any problems.Got to agree reniannen.I've not posted the lastest energy comps on the Dennis sites that often post from for the reasons that you state.
I must say I am a bit reluctant to post any more comps from the The First Post.
With their latest 3 comps, 1 is promoted by Scottish Power who have had many complaints on here for aggressive phone calls, 1 is promoted by Holiday Prize World which seems to be part of Club La Costa known to be a time share seller and the 3rd seems to be linked to Fair Exchange, operated by PDV Ltd who are members of the Direct Marketing Association. This does seem to be the way Dennis are going.0 -
I subscribe to Web user magazine and they have recently switched to Dennis publishing. They always used to have good competitions on the website but they have all changed now to being sponsored ones (love offers and things like that), so I have stopped entering them.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I just wondered if any Facebook experts can help with a quick question? Is there any way you can search your name on Facebook - particularly with a view to seeing if you've won anything? I do use Facebook for comps quite a lot but don't tend to look back to see if I've won (on the basis that I probably haven't!). Toni very kindly saw one comp I'd won and informed me but I never would have known otherwise! Twitter is great now I've discovered that clicking onto "Mentions" brings up anybody using your name - just wondered if Facebook had this kind of option?
Thanks in advance.0 -
If I search my name on facebook, then opt for the see more results link at the bottom, on the screen that brings up I can then choose to see all the posts by friends results (underneath the people results).
This brings up any post with my name in it by any of my friends (or groups I've 'liked'), as well as my own posts. Scrolling through that, i can see comp results where I've won, so that should work!0 -
Thanks so much Chops!0

Hi all, I've got a question about holiday comps. Sorry if it's already been asked!
Have holiday winners ever tried extending the trips by booking extra hotel nights? Or do the organisers tend to insist that you only go for the length of time specified in the prize, and the flights have to fit around that?
Just wondering as at the moment I'm not bothering entering some comps because they involve a really long flight and a very short stay! I don't want to go all the way to Sydney or Cape Town and only stay three nights!0
