How long have you been with your utility company on pre-payment? Is there a debt on the meter?
I used to work for NPower and the stance they took was if theres no debt, you've been a customer a year, and you're going on direct debit they would just accept you no matter what your credit was.
I'm not sure what other companies do, but its likely to be about the same kind of terms.DFW Nerd No. 140

Well done, the only benefit of a pre-payment meter is at least you can't run up any debts.
The only further saving to be made now on those bills, is to try and use less.
Have a look on the Old Style board for tips on reducing usage. :TOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Try looking at Ebico (https://www.ebico.co.uk I think). They are flat rate so your prepayment meter won't work out dearer.
