The only Val Doonican song I can remember is Paddy McGinty's Goat!
I managed to ply him with champagne before he started on that :rotfl:. My fault for mentioning the Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go Now (totally unrelated convo to the anniversary btw :D) and that started a youtube session. We managed to get to Val Doonican in around 4 or 5 steps....... I still don't know how his mind works :rotfl:.

Off to see if Mrs Clooney has a diary on here :D.

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Back to more serious matters, have also been playing on this early retirement calculator HERE. Takes a bit of fiddling around with but basically runs your figures against the past 100 years or so to determine how many times you'd have ran out of money in retirement. Lots of options to vary returns etc on the right and you can change to the Monte Carlo method which is more random than going back over previous years. Gratified to see in most scenarios I'll be ok 100% of the time :T. Probably the best calculator I've used.
