I googled the other day (see my recent post!) but couldn't find anything about any grants or boiler scrappage scheme here. I went though the questionnaire on the Energy Saving Trust website too, but it said there was nothing available.

If anyone knows of a scheme, I'd be very interested too!

I found THIS ,but no real details

A boiler replacement scheme for vulnerable people will be introduced in Northern Ireland in the spring, it has been announced.
The information was released as a result of an Assembly Question put to the Minister of Social Development, Alex Attwood.

The pilot is part of a new strategy to reduce fuel poverty and is aimed at those with inefficient burners.

Households eligible for the scheme will not be required to make a financial contribution.

Not sure if this is what your talking about, but Pheonix Gas offered £400 discount and called it boiler scrappage, when u put in pheonix gas, and they took away your old boiler.

But it ended a few months ago, but i think this offer comes on every so often.
  • I have recently in the last 4 weeks got £300 from Pheonix, £200 for connecting the new boiler and £100 for connecting my gas hob! This was offered to me in excess of 18 months ago, a quick phone call to explain that I had been ill and the discount was very quickly made available. Only thing I had to do was have it installed by the 31st Dec... The lesson here I guess is if you don't ask you won't get!

I have heard that Pheonix are about or are offering £1000 for those without any style of heating!

Which would be the best time to install a new boiler as you can go without heat for a few days if you have to.
