Pheeww what a week! I haven't been on for a while, been really busy.
Dietwise:
Lets just write off this week. No Loss, but no gain either!:o
I know that I've been bad with food choices, but I'm blaming it all on stress!!:(
Healthwise:
As stated I have been really busy at work. Went back on Monday 14th after being off sick with Migraine Headaches and a general feeling of "Bleurgh".
Im having a few problems at work, in particular, a supervisor who thinks he has the right to bully me. He's picked the wrong person, because if you poke me with a stick - I will take your head off!!!!
I'm a person who sticks up for herself and has no problem with challenging a situation which isn't right.
Basically, this person is demanding that I change my place of work, and current circumstances to suit him, but with no consideration to me.
I'm still recovering with my broken ankle and ligament damage, and for this reason I have had to adapt my working style to suit my physical limitations. I was getting along just fine, when this little man (clearly suffering from Little Man Syndrome LMS) calls me up and starts making unreasonable demands.
When I didn't bow down to his greatness he threatened to take the matter to a senior line manager. I told him (very politely) to knock himself out - but I will not be moved!!:p The conversation didn't go his way, so he ended it very abruptly, basically ignoring me and any explanation I was trying to give him, because it wasn't what he wanted to hear.
Needless to say, when I put the phone down, I was totally !!!!!!!
I had a consultation the next day with my Occupational Health Nurse, and it seemed that he had already been giving his two pence worth. However, the nurse at least took the time to listen to my explanation and it was decided that I would stay put for now.;)
I heard nothing else, until I went into work on Saturday morning to a rather cheeky email, again stating that I WILL COMPLY WITH HIS DEMANDS or else.....
Needless to say once again I was enraged. Then when I calmed down, I got very upset at the sheer frustration in dealing with this P**ck!!!!
I composed myself and began to compile a (its currently at 3 pages) response to his email. I asked another manager to have a look at it and he said it covered all the valid points that I wanted to get across.
It doesn't help that every time I think about this idiot I imagine myself grabbing him by the throat and repeatedly punching him in the face (It'll never happen, but it makes me feel better!:rotfl:)
So, plan of action is to phone Occupational Health and give them an update about the stress and frustration that this whole incident is causing.
No doubt I will have further to report over the next few days!!
Money Wise:
I was doing not bad on that front, all remaining CC balances have now been transferred to 0% for 15 months, which should take the pressure off a bit.:D
On the spendy front: I have been having a total nightmare trying to find curtains in the right shade of RED!! Been looking for ages, but I ordered a selection of samples from a company online (247 Curtains) and BINGO - exact shade I need. Its a red silk called "Paris Scarlett"
Took the plunge and ordered the curtains which need to be made to measure.
Deep Breath - thats me £638 lighter!! But you need to pay for quality - right??? (And it took me ages to find them after many disappointments!):T
They should arrive in 14 Working days! Holding Breath;)
Some good news though - Dexter has had his stitches out and is doing really well. He won't win any beauty competitions, but as long as he is happy and healthy and there is no permanent damage, thankfully. Its a big relief and a massive weight off my mind.
So much for 2011 being a better year for me and God help me, its only February!!:eek:0 -
Well I can honestly say I'm glad to see the back of February. It's been a bit of a horrendous time for me.
Put some weight back on:mad:
Been really stressed:mad:
Had nothing but grief:mad:
Well here comes March and its all going to change!!;)
Well, as you all know I've had a rubbish couple of weeks, so today I thought I would treat myself.
I went to my local Pandora stockist and they currently have 25% discount. Got 2 Pandora Charms for my bracelet.:D I never buy anything for myself, but I thought, s*d it, I'm going to spoil myself for a change.
I'm starting March with my weight at 13st 9:eek: Sharp intake of breath!
I'm away to total up all of my spending for the month for my frugal Challenge total. You will be able to see it in my signature. Its great to see a running total of my spending. It really keeps me on track.
Will keep any followers posted on my progress (and it will be progress:))
But, I'm in a new frame of mind and its the start of a new month - so here it goes.....

Oh dear,
Just been totalling my frugality for this month (drum Roll)
Hmmm, not the best. I've spent £2670.27:eek: Which is an increase on last month!! I did miss a few NSD and didn't hit my target of 20 days. This month I WILL hit my target. And I hope to spend less in March. (a lot less!!:))
On a more positive note, my £400 clothing budget for 2011 is STILL intact:T. Don't want to go clothes shopping until I lose a few more pounds.0 -

Good luck Romylou
I was the same, I keep a spreadsheet with all my monthly spends on it and I have spent about £380 more in February than I did in January!
I am having to up my clothing budget due to losing weight and dropping a dress size plus, having to buy new trousers for work as we are getting new uniforms and are no longer allowed to wear jeans.
Good luck with everything in March

Hiya
Heres to a happy happy March and beyond xxx0 -
Thanks Palema and littleboots.
March has started off ok for me so far. I'm going to reign in the spending a bit. It's going to be hard because my first MOT is due on my car in March and thats when my Road tax is renewed as well.
Oohh everything always seems to come round all at once!;)
I got an updated statement from my mortgage company today. Does this amount ever decrease?
My balance at 31/1/11:
Secured Loan (mortgage)
£94,501.05
Unsecured Loan
£6,486.55
SVR Interest is charged at 4.78% with NRAM
Total Balance £100,987.60
I have 25 years and 8 months left to pay! This will definitely change/reduce!!
I will add this balance to my signature and will try to reduce it a bit more. It will take time, because I want to clear my debts first.
I will be paying off the unsecured part first. This is the extra money DH and I took out to buy things as this is our first house and we had nothing at all furniture wise. It also needed a bit of cosmetic decorating.;)0 -
Ooh I hate mortgage statements, I'm stuck on 6.4%
. I took a 5yr fixed rate, its up at the end of the year, probably just in time for the rates to jump! 0 -

Hopefully the rate will be less than 6.4% so at least you can benfit a little bit.:)0 -
Ive managed to work out my daily interest:
Outstanding mortgage £100,987.60/100 = £1009.88
multiply by interest rate (4.78%) = £4827.21 (yearly interest)
divide by 365 days = £13.22 per day:eek:
OMG!! Thats just the interest! Better get my finger out;)
I will continue to update the balances when I get my statements from the mortgage company.0 -
Well, its been a bit of a while since I was on here.
Got all CC balances consolidated (£3026.12) and transferred to 0% for 15 months. This should help me budget a little better and stop me spending on the cards.
I want to start putting a bit of money away every month to pay for a holiday this year.
I aim to save £3000 for my bit of Sunshine and will update my signature so everyone can keep track, and hopefully it will motivate me to keep on going.
I have 7 months to save which works out at about £400 per month:eek:
Wow, I'm going to have to pull my socks up.
To save money, I have not been food shopping as much (which reduces temptation and unnecessary purchases:D. The price of fuel has soared here and I try not to use the car as much (I have only filled it up once this year at a cost of £64.00):A
I am batch cooking and portioning food. I don't have a very big freezer and it fills up very quickly. I take packed lunches to work and do not eat out at all (well only on special occasions;)).
Well, onwards and upwards, will continue to update the signature to chart progress - no more failures:)0
