Building extension and mortgage lender

I'm having a single floor extension built onto the back of my house, it is a conservatory type, no change to structural walls of house. Do I need to tell my mortgage lender? If so is it likely to change to mortgage terms (I'm very happy with the mortgage and do not want to change it, there is no way I would get as good a mortgage again, now).
I know I need to inform my insurers (in my case different to the mortgage lender).
Thanks for any advice people have.
