Well Puds, at least you are doing your walking outside anyway, so the tread mill shouldn't be a miss to your exercise regime ;) When are you going to start to use the gym then?

Mam is still the same really Steve - though my sister said she was very confused yesterday when she got there at tea-time and right down the bed, with her feet sticking out the bottom onto the controls for her air-flow mattress. My sister asked the carers to move her up the bed, but when they did so, they found that she and her bed were soaking wet - the carers thought that she may have turned the connection/tap on her catheter on then off again, but my sister did not think this could be the case as there was no smell, and this proved right when, after the carers cleaned her up and did her bed again, my sister found that her bed-table, which was pushed against the wall again (:mad::mad::mad:) was swimming in water/juice from, presumably her upturned beaker - everything on the table was saoking wet including her box of tissues. so it would seem that she somehow spilled her juice when drinking it, or perhaps even got to the jug and tried to pour some juice out. However it happened, the carers had certainly not noticed

She remained confused and fiddling with things, though she did eat her meal, and settled by the time my sister left. However, Mam was OK today, back to her happy and chatty self, and ate her meals today with no problem too

Awww Susan am so sorry that your sister found your mum in that state. But on the other hand its a good job she was there to take care of the situation and get it sorted.

Am pleased that your mam was ok today and ate her meals etc..

WHen is again when you return back up to visit your mam?

yeah i can swim, havent been for a few years, i cant be in the pool for any longer than about 30 minutes (and a fair chunk of that is waiting at the ends of the pool) and it takes me 20 minutes to get dried and changed etc so i find it quite a time consuming activity for the amount of actual exercise involved.
but saying that, swimming can be fun especially when youre 25+ stone! Belly flopping into the pool can make you very unpopular very quickly haha
the coastguard says when i go swimming in the sea, i have to tie an orange buoy to my ankle :-) erm something about a hazard to shipping! lol

The first supervised gym session is monday afternoon
  • Ok Susan will do that tomorrow morning.. :D

    Night Susan, Kit, & pudds.
