Kit, if your big TV is still working, then don't tip it with the council.
Give it away on freecycle, you choose who gets it and they have to collect it or give it to this charity

For those who suffer low esteem caused by depression, there are a whole series of books by a lady by the name of 'Furnell'. According to my case manager they are well worth a read.
3Dogs, glad your mum is cheered-up by all her visitors. Sorry to read that her carers keep laying her bed down flat and upsetting her. I think I would be very tempted to print an official looking sign stating 'Patient must not be laid flat' and sticking it above her bed.
SW & Beanie, I know what it is like to suffer depression. Some days I just really cannot be bothered to do anything. Whilst on others I feel on top of the world.Never Knowingly Understood.

Good tip Aesop - we did tell Kit about Freecycle/freegle but I think she, and more so her Dad, want it gone quicklyFor those who suffer low esteem caused by depression, there are a whole series of books by a lady by the name of 'Furnell'. According to my case manager they are well worth a read.

Thanks patman, my sister has in fact now printed up a notice saying that Mam is not to be laid flat and that her drink must be kept within her reach, as she dehydrates so easily
As for depression, it is a terrible burden, when somedays you just want to cut yourself off from everyone and 'hide', whereas on other days, you want to be with people and enjoying yourself - actually, change those you's to I's because I know just how that feels - but we just have to keep plodding along ................. plod .. plod .. plodMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Thanks Patman, will have a look, as DH suffers from a lot of things. He only recently told me he suffers from "everyone is looking at me" syndrome.0

that's fair enough. But why waste money paying council to take it or waste taking by binmen?
one quick call to the charity, I am sure they will be there within a few days. I know when I called a charity local to us about a junior bed and our old CRT TV, they were here within a couple of days, checked TV worked, and everything removed free of charge.
duvet days for me... what was it you called them 3Dogs?0 -

'Curl up in corner of shower tray with shower curtain closed' days or just 'shower days' for short!!!
As you see, I took my laptop up to bed with me - naughty naughty - though I have been searching for bargains/glitches etc and found that ALL cereals till 1st March and ALL pet food till 20th Feb is 3 for the price of 2 at Tatco's - I will definitely save some money there with the dog food and possibly the cereals too :T :T :T :TMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

there are not many groceries that i need to buy this week but ive got a voucher for £12 off an £80 spend and a voucher for £10 off a £70 spend and an asda price match voucher (which tatco have kindly started accepting too) for £14.05, and I reckon, so long as i spend over £80 that all 3 of them should be accepted for the same basket of goods, so a total discount of £36 - in other words not far off half price ;-)
with that in mind i guess i should really find things to stock up on before the vouchers expire
so if pedigree chum is £6.65 for 12 cans, and buy 9 trays inc 3 free for £39.90, so with those alone suppose i'm almost halfway to the £80 spend - but is 108 tins of dog food too much? lol
...anyway i'll put money on them not having 9 trays in stock when i go shopping in the morning :-(i havent bought any breakfast cereal since last summer - found it to be one of the worst culprits for setting off a binge. I love shreddies though and alpen (oh and chocolate ready brek too!) but nonethe less, there will be none ofthose in my basket tomorrow :-( Do i sound like an ex-smoker talking about cigarettes lol?
