Aesop when i rang them they said i was charged £20 for a late payment as the direct debit didn't go through when i changed banks and £60 for summons charges, so i did get fined i think. It was for a payment over the summer hols when i moved house as builders were here. I didn't get my mail so i didn't realise there was a problem.

Lesson learned £80 is a lot of money though. I could have had a fab time with that!

Old me would have not worried as i used to waste money on taxi's and silly stuff all the time but this is a valuable lesson for me. I will read my statements very carefully from now on. It is pouring with rain outside i have a meeting at 11.15 and i dont want to go but i must!

I know about the rain, pouring here too. But have to clean house and get kitchen tidy, washing machine being delivered tomorrow which means have to empty cupboard under sink.

    good luck with meeting.

hmm maybe you could appeal against the fine and costs? explain to them about the builders and not having access to your mail. They can only say no.
  • I will write a letter in half term and see what happens. Nothing i think but i can have a go. At last a new machine. Well done. I had better go. I am really late now!!! i love chatting to you, it feels like you are all in the room with me and i dont feel alone now.:)

Had a lovely train ride up to Newcastle this morning - all on time too :j it was the express which only stopped at Darlington and York, so only took 2 hrs 8 mins and, with Steve kindly keeping me company by texting on mobile, it passed in no time at all :D:D

My BiL collected me from the station and I dropped him at home, then went to Mam's and, as brother already out, got unpacked straight away and sorted out. I am going down now to see Mam and then me and brother can come home together. Will be going down at tea-time too, with my sister after she finishes work

Sorry about your problem with summons Aesop - hopefully they are giving you time to pay - as I've said on here before, been there, done that, even gone to bailiffs before I'm afraid

Seems like council sent you the wrong letter SW - hope so anyway!!

See you all later after I've seen Mam - be good everyone ;);)

I need to tell them I can only pay the court charges in instalments. they are very hard on paying stuff back in instalments, last year, same time had problems making last payment, said I can pay x, x, x over each 3 months and they said no, over 2 months!

    my own fault.

pleased you had a pleasant journey up 3Dogs. Hope it is a good visit.
