Just been talking to my sister on the phone - my BiL is picking me up at the station at 10 am tomorrow :j

My sister has printed a poster to go above Mam's bed stating that she does not like lying flat in bed and is to be sat upright at all times, plus that she needs to drink fluids so please ensure that her glass of squash is within reach. This is because it happened again when she was left lying flat, shouting for help, and her bed-table is often pushed against the wall or across the bottom of the bed, so she can't reach her drink

The deputy doctor, nurses and carers all agreed that Mam could sit in her chair to relieve her back and make a change of scenery for her, if only for half an hour a day, so we expected that to happen yesterday or the day before. However, my sister saw the main doctor today to ask why she wasn't being put into her chair and the doc said that 'your mother hasn't long to live so do you really want to be putting her through all that, when she is so weak'. Pretty blunt!! :( So my sister, brother and I are going to speak to the doc together next week to see if it is possible as Mam is getting so sore and bored just lying there all day and night. We'll just have to see what happens, but it is the same old story with one saying one thing and someone else saying the opposite

My sister told Mam that I was coming up tomorrow and she gave a really big smile, which is nice :D:D

You'll be pleased to know that I have got my PJ's ready to pack, don't need to take slippers as I left some up there last time I was up, my dongle is now in my handbag ready for laptop to go in there tomorrow too, got my train tickets in my purse, and don't think I've forgotten anything this weekend ;);)
