SW I'm a northerner so I tend to be a little blunt. You are one of the most interesting people on here & make any thread that little bit 'more' than it was. Ask anyone. You ask the questions the rest of us will do our best to answer!

Well that means they did a good job. I get a lump in my throat when i get stressed my doctor says it is my thyroid but it isn't an adam's apple men have those. I always used to look at my boyfriends in the olden days. What the heck are they for? do you think i might be changing into a man?

Hi - long time lurker here (with bad lack of imagination username) I used to work for someone who had had a sex change & it wasn't all roses for them. The massive hormone treatments can cause health problem down the line & any partner would be sure to find out. Any marriage would only be possible with the partners knowledge (or possible serious lying). Not a good basis for any relationship. SW you can tell if you know what to look for. Bad facial skin where the hormones stop the need for shaving. A larger than the female normal adam's apple. Also a tendency to wear high heels or skirts where most women would wear flats & trousers (they need to 'promote the female identity'). More if you want to know! Sorry to butt in.

No need to apologise Patanne, you're welcome here - like I said earlier, the life these people live is one of torment most of the time, even after surgery & hormone therapy, their need to be the other gender can indeed show itself in, as you put it, an over promotion of the other gender's identity - in the case of male to female, thick make up, pretty pink, frills, lace, high heels, overdone hair style

I think it is very sad :(:( Due to a quirk of nature, they have the wrong gender :(:(

Puddings - look at her feet then. There is always something. But that is never the problem. If a partner is alright with it (the person I worked for, her partner had no problems with it) then that is fine. The problems come with a lack of honesty the same as in any relationship. If you tell someone you are 10 years younger than you are & it becomes a long term relationship then eventually the proverbial is going to hit the fan

Hi Patanne - sometimes bluntness is a good thing - but i wouldnt say its particularly a northern thing is it?

When I knew him previously (as a man) he did look like he was born into the wrong gender even back then so there was not really any surprise when he went for the op!

Exactly Patanne - i dont know what time is the right time to announce to a boyfriend that you "used to be a man" but the closer to the altar they get the less right that time is!
