Another great choice Kit :j :j
Knowledge is always good, it is only by questioning existing theories or practices, that progress is made - I believe that discussion is very good :jMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

decomposition - and nothing else - it might just take a little longer for me to decompose than most people!
spirits and souls - sorry i just dont buy that stuff
Dont get me wrong I'm a big fan of religion - it gives some people hope and faith, just not me. It also encourages people to lead better lives - take the 10 commandments for example... I think the world would be a much better place if everybody strived to those high ideals.0 -

Because of greed mostly - one tribe, one nation, wanting something the other one has or trying to impose their way of life on others
We all have free will, and have differing views on many things - which is good - but when that goes too far, trouble flares which can lead to fights/battles/war where both sides think they are in the right
But if we all thought the same, it would be a sad old world, with little progression - society would stagnate instead of evolveMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Pudds what do you think happens to people break the 10 Commandments?
Susan how the heck are we gonna spend eternity in heaven with billions of people when we discuss, debate and fight? I dont think i am going to stop questioning things, it is what i have always done. What does God do, anaesthetise our Maltesers?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
What is very sad about religion is how intolerant it can be of differing views, like, as you said, christianity with homosexuality, catholics with contraception too, moslems on women's rights, etc etc etc
And how these differering views themselves lead to war and killing when all religions are against killing. And the hate that religion can cause, instead of peace and harmonyMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

3dogs i agree entirely. greed mostly
greed of possessions, land etc
greed of power - political power and religous power
there are no consequences of breaking a commandment
heavy topic!0 -

No!!!! only the minstrels Kit
Seriously, 'heaven' to me is a state of mind, not a state of being
This all reminds me of what a young girl at work once said when asked if she believed in God, she said "No, but I'm going to say yes, in case he is listening" :rotfl: :rotfl: I think most of us would like to believe in a god, not necessarily the God you and I think of Kit, but the great spirit looking over us and after us, but can't without seeing evidence - mankind these days, especially with advance technology and science, need more than just stories, they need proven fact, which as far as religion is concerned, is never provided. Religion and faith require a vast amount of trustMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
