You know there is nothing funnier in life than watching my blind and deaf dog walk in front of my dad who can hardly walk with parkinsons. Dad can't move and murphy wont, so dad tries to move him with his stick, and i just sit there and laugh! I'll have to record it one day.

Cost of providing those activities taking into account their share of the fixed costs, Price level of competing activities in competing centres, demand, peak times, off peak times, group discounts, season ticket discounts...

    QUESTION 1:

When recommending a pricing structure for a full range of wet and dry activities in an inner London Leisure Centre, what factors must be taken into account and why?

    1. current usage (are they being used to a high capacity curently) if not reduce prices encourage offers
    2. current staffing (can the business cope with increased staffing levels) and costs incurred if changes occur.
    3. all fixed variable costs need to be calculated and a reasonable mark up added to ensure some sort of surplus is made
    4. comparisons of prices need to be made with competitors (other leisure centres, skating rinks etc) prices
    5. types of customers need to be examined - who currently makes best usage of the leisure centre - age, socioeconomic groupings, times of visits, and prices can be decided accordingly
    6. as a leisure centre the price strategists need to decide the overall aim of the business is it to make a profit and charge high prices(for a private sector business) or (as a public sector business) do they wish to ensure health and well being of the local population and charge lower prices to attract new customers.
    7. amount available from Public sector purse to subsidise activities, in the current climate everything is being reduced.

now that i have stopped my coughing fit this is a quick answer. Am ok steve dont worry. Can't talk anymore my throat feels all husky and hurts. Yuk.

Produce an A4 draft winter programme of activities for badminton courts sports hall. Ensure that the programme is balanced, catering for all of the community’s needs. Assume that this area is a new facility which is fully marked out with Entertainments and Events capabilities and is shortly to be added to an existing swimming pool/leisure centre.

    1. winter programme? what sports do people play in the winter? I used to go to the gym, pool and sauna.
    2. maybe legs, bums and tums can't think of any others Fritty might know.
    3. if it is for all the community make sure there are activities for toddlers, mums, mature people, ladies groups, ethnic groups???? (what - no idea and i'm an ethnic???), males, schoolkids etc

ethnic ladies sometimes do ladies only classes errr I dont know.
Do they car boot in the winter on a sunday morning? My local leisure centre gets FatFace and leisure factory shops in to sell things too.

Best option ring your local leisure centre ask to speak to assistant manager and they can help with this.
