Cash in hand as a payment for work done is not exempt from tax. You may choose not to declare it as income but HMRC take a very dim view of people who try to defraud them. Also it is not good MSE to advise other MSErs to similarly defraud HMRC.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
