Hope it's ok to start a thread on this - if not, please feel free to move.
Basically, I have a pot of Tesco fresh custard I know I won't use up at the moment - can I use it as a base for home-made ice-cream? There's more cream in the fridge I could add if needed, but I just wondered if anyone else has ever tried this, and if so, whether it worked, and if so, what did you do? Many thanks for all advice/suggestions:)

We've killed 2 birds with one stone in past years with this Christmas pudding ice cream recipe"We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

I'd most definitely use it as a base for home-made ice-cream but once it's frozen the vanilla flavour might be too subtle so I'd add a bit more. I doubt that the cream would improve it, so I wouldn't add it unless I had no other use for it.0
