First Christmas not on Credit

Well cant tell you how good that feels this christmas, pressies was cut back to just very close family, didnt overspend on food what normally gets thrown out cause of buying too much. And best of all i managed on a budget something i never had pre bankruptcy. I can honestly say i think my life is so much better without the use of credit. Any i will never go back down the root of trying to obtain it again. Its easy when you have a credit card like im sure most will agree. But it's not always as easy to pay it back

Congratulations jess! Glad you had a good Christmas and can still feel good about it in January when most people start getting their credit card bills!

    Happy New Year!!

  • Well done you. It makes such a difference doesn't it.

And now is the time to open a Credit Union or another account and put a little by each week/month so yuo have a little nest egg all ready for next year. Even £5 a week for around 40 weeks is £200 which is'nt to be sneezed at.

I can pretty much say "ditto" to all of that :D. It's a good feeling (tempered a little by our TV breaking down yesterday :(....without any credit we're making do with my son's tiddly portable for the time being....but no complaints).

To me spending at xmas is a bit like paying your road tax, tv license or home insurance!

Its a necessary expense but it can feel really rewarding if you get a good deal.

Id urge anyone to keep an eye on the sales over the next week as you'll get some nice stocking fillers for pennys. Just pack them away in with your tree and next year you'll appreciate the saving!

Great job Jess. :) If you start making it a habit you'll be amazed at how much amount of money you'll save over time. :)
