Well i came accross an offer i couldn't refuse and took the plungs and purchased a Kinect sensor. I paid £80 for it brand new with Kinect adventures so got a bargain imo
First impressions are it's a fantastic piece of kit. My worries with lag issues are gone as i find it extremely responsive when in a motion based game.
I've got a 360 slim 250gb so only use the cable supplied on the Kinect sensor as the new Xbox slim has a dedicated Kinect socket that does not need the extra wall socket to power the device
Motion movement navigating the dashboard is simple and easy and responsive. I haven't found it to go haywire at my movements yet.
Sound recognition is superb. Say "Xbox" and a menu pops up and then just say whatever is on he screen to launch it etc. Video play back can be paused, >>, << etc from ZUNE but i don't think it allows voice commands when watching a standard DVD
So all in i'd say it's a clever piece of hardware that as of yet we haven't seen 1/2 of it's potential.... Well that was until an Austrian company got their hands on it
