Grrrrr All I Want Is My Credit Report!

Trying to sign up for my credit report for the 2nd time after it wouldn't accept my debit card the first time round. Got a new card so went about applying for it online with creditexpert.co.uk and it NOW says it can't verify who I am and that I've got to send copies of this this and this to them! ARGH! I got married in August could that be why? I did put my maiden name in as requested but it still says it can't verify my identity?! Is that going to cause me to be declined by anyone who uses them to do their credit checks???

What a flippin' pain in the bum!

It could be something to do with having gotten married - has the electoral role been updated with your new name? They do seem to be very picky.

Have you tried calling the support line to ask them for suggestions? They were very helpful when my husband had problems getting his.

  • Well we had the form for the electoral role come through a month or so ago and it'll be our first time on the electoral role as we've only lived here a year.. could it be that it hasn't been updated yet?

The same thing happened to me, but I know I am on electoral roll. I sent back a snotty email to the one asking me to verify who I was and they replied and asked me to ring them.
As yet I haven't done, I applied to Experian using Pigsback. Grrrr.

If you haven't been in the property long, and weren't on the electoral roll at that address with your old name either, then that is most likely the problem.

I think it takes quite a while to update once you send the form back, so I'd probably give it another month or so then try again.

You should get a confirmation email shortly advising that the security code will be with you within 3 days.

Registered a while back but my area has only just gone live. I should have the security code within 3 days and then I should be able to view the report online, will let you know by updating this thread once I have successfully viewed it!
