new look new returns policy

Options
Hi

not sure if this has been mentioned yet but according to my local new look store you can no longer return sale items for a refund or credit note, you can only exchange. this policy came in boxing day. I wasnt told when i purchased nor does the receipt mention it.

There is however a small blue/purple coloured sign by the till with tiny white print on that states this, (pointed out when i tried to return an item).

  • so if items were brought before boxing day , can they be returned for your money back?

  • I had a refund for a sale item yesterday.I purchased the item prior to Boxing day so maybe it's just for items purchased on or after Boxing day.

Yes it is just for sale items purchased afetr 26th as i got stung by this after buying loads and not being told about thier new policy. I now have items that i dont need or want that i cant get a refund on. :(

Yes I can confirm its on or after 26th December, I have to say I think its wrong that they didn't inform people when buying that their returns policy had completely changed for sale items and is different to what's on the receipt. It also doesnt state whether or not it applies to sale items bought on line and the online returns information is the same as its always been (it was yesterday anyway).

I think a lot of people are going to be stung by this and I wont be purchasing in new looks sale again unless i can try it on first, the ques for the changing rooms were so long on boxing day!

Thanks, that is quite bad of them, im shocked... But thankfully I try things on and dont buy them unless I really like and want them.

Only problem is when buying online you cant try something on, so is it the same for online stuff?

I dont know if its the same with stuff online, it doesnt mention it on their website but then it has the 'old' terms on the receipt from stores!

I think you will be able to return items bought online under the distance selling regulations within 7 days? What worries me tho is a shop assistant will not allow you to have a refund in store as its a sale item and will therefore have to pay to return the item to newlook.com
