Working from home websites

Haven't logged on here for ages, so I'm well out of touch.
Found a website offering working from home on computer and claiming significant earnings. There is a "one off" fee of £19.97 (cut from £39.97 they claim) for the "secrets". You speak to an agent via a IM window.
I'm a natural sceptic. Does anyone here have any knowledge of this one, or others like it? What do you have to do and what - realistically - could you earn with reasonable effort?
Hope this is on the correct board and apols if it isn't.

It works like this. You give me £19.97 and I will tell you the secret which is to set up a website to get other people to pay you £19.97 for you to tell them to set up a website and get other people to pay them £19.97 to pass on the same information.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

Ah, I see - its a pyramid scheme/chain letter type of scam. Good. Thanks for the help - will avoid.0

There are businesses out there that you can run from home with a lot of hard work, but I will tell you one thing:
When you come up with it you wont sell it on for 20 quid!I am a Mortgage Adviser

Hi, I've heard of them too and been on that exact page you speak of. It's from one of those ads that claim that people make a £400 a day just by sat in front of their PC. Yeah right, as if.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0

And unfortunately large companies like Yahoo are happy to accept and run the adverts put out by these scammers even though every word of the ad is a complete lie:

I'd stay away from that site if I were you. I agree with all the other posters, it's a rip off.Mr. Mulla0

I'm seriously thinking of taking a punt at this, after all it's only a mere £20 give or take. Not exactly the end of the world is it?
YES you may laugh and think of me as a mug, but my motto in life is, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". I certainly won't be losing any sleep whatsoever IF it is a scam, but on the other hand will sleep a lot easier if it isn't.
Just one question i'd like to ask. If it we're a scam I assume i'd have no grounds to request a full refund or do I assume it's a case of buyer beware?
I must be mad. Wish me luck.0 -
why not use the £20 to pay for a bet on the horses? you're more likely to get a return than sending it to those people! or keep it in your account - guaranteed return! I would run the other way!:ALois Lane 999

Yes, I think we all will do that.Golden_Oldie wrote: »but my motto in life is, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained".
In this case your motto should be "Nothing ventured, nothing lost"0
