ftb advice needed

Options
hi all i have posted a similar post on here before but just wanted a little more feedback

me and my partner are looking at buying our first house together as currently we are renting for £500 a month and have been for around 3 and half yrs. we are both 23 and have a 2 yr old boy. I earn around 18500 a year working full time, and my gf around 7500 work part time. We also get around 2000 a yr in working tax and child tax if that has any relevance.

We have no outstanding debt jus have phone contract, sofa payment, and tv all amounting to around 80 pounds per month. never had any previous late payments etc and both our credit scores on experian are 900 although from wot i gather this means very little.

we have around 9000 deposit to put down on a house and have seen one or 2 houses that are repossions in our home town for around 60,000 mark, would a mortgage lender entertain our application or shud we wait untill we build up our deposit more although this is would take some time!

jus advice wnted as to how we stand on getting a mortgage or wether we shud give up hope and just keep renting!many thanks!
