    There is an arguement of course that as new stuff comes in, then redundant stuff should be cut. It was cut WELL before the stuff became mainstream.

    Typical example of how the ONS was "Bent" towards their political financial backers. ANyone remember the inflation blip that happened, reported by the ONS? Closely followed by 300 job losses announced by the treasury at the ONS. Circumstantial? I am sure. But it does need to be remembered no organisation like the ONS with oversight and sponsorship from the government can be truly independent.
