Is the Becko CDA565FW fridge freezer any good?

Seasons greetings, guys! My current fridge freezer is a) leaking mouldy goop from the broken door seal, b) old and inefficient, c) the freezer isn't big enough to fit all the reduced groceries in!

So, we're looking for a replacement and stumbled across the Becko CDA565FW fo £250 (lemme know if you see it cheaper!). It's really tall which is a definite plus, and the freezer: fridge volume ratio looks good (we want as much freezer as possible). We only have 56 cm width to play with, and this one will fit nicely.

I read 5 positive reviews online but if anyone here knows different, please let me know! My in-laws are warning me against the brand because of a half-remembered anecdote from a friend about 10 years ago. Not sure how much attention I should pay to that...

So: any advice for or against?

Don't know about that particular model but I had a beko fridge/freezer for about 10 years and gave it away in good working order because I wanted more space and replaced with beko seperate upright fridge and freezer about 5 years ago - had no problems, only annoying thing is the beeper goes off when you have the freezer door open for a short while makes putting away or sorting contents a real pain. Would recommend the make.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

  • hi all, can u advice?

moved into new flat have undercounter fridge/freezer installed and working.

need more freezer space, want to buy an undercounter freezer?

Is it a matter of plugging in new freezer into a 13Amp wall socket and done? Can I jus buy freezer form argos/comet and bring home and plug and play...please advise not good with home stuff.

    Thanks.
  • My mother has one and its is brilliant as far as fridge/freezers go :) I've ordered one and its comming tomorrow, its replacing the Beko fridge/freezer I've had for 11 years (still working just too small)so I haven't had any problems with Beko.I would get it if I was you especially at £250 everywhere else seems to be just shy of £400.
My only problem is working out how Im going to reach the top shelf of the fridge...Im only 5 foot 3 :rotfl:

    Hi
Yes, a freezer doesn't pull much current at all so a 13 Amp socket is ample.
    Cheers
  • cant understand how you've all had Beko's last so long. Our first one lasted 18 months and packed in - unrepairable. Replacement Beko lasted just over 2 years - unrepairable
maybe we were just unlucky - hope you have better luck
