Inverter for Laptop on long car journeys

I was after a low cost low power inverter to run the laptop so the kids can watch DVDs on long drives.

Can anyone recommend one, or beat these prices?

I need something with a car cig. lighter adapter anda 3 pin UK main outlet.

Ideally surge protected, and kids safe and quiet.

I've seen some on amazon but they are not sold by them direct :(

The belkin looks good: reputation for quality, value, power porducts, support etc.

Ebuyer has one for about £30

As does savastore

And this outfit has one for £25

This one seems to be for a PS/2

So it looks like £34 inc delivery is the best price?

Saw this cheap stuff at henry's (which is local for me) but I'm not a full time student (in the conventional way) any more but at £25 its tempting!!

And noticed this one at maplins for £12!! But they are discontinued / no stock left :(

  • I got one of the cheap maplin one from my local store, it might be worth phoning yours to see if they have stock.
Failing that there is this one from screwfix for 21.99 plus 5.95 packing and handling and free  delivery.

I bought one recently from this eBay seller:

Look for "DC Car Power Adapter for Notebook Laptop". It comes with a range of DC connectors and is only £12.50-£15 delivered. Works fine but it pays to tape or glue the voltage switch down so the kids can't mess with it.
