Ice in toby box

Turns out there was a 3inch thick block of ice inside the toby box.(This is the box on the street for turning off water individually to each house.)
So i poured some warm water on, and of course the ice melted,I then removed the water using sponges and have repeated this process,warm/hot water, let it settle then sponge out over and over.
Will this clear any other ice in the line from here to my house or is there any other nut inside the toby box which can be removed to pour the warm water into?
