Cheapest place to buy Piriton non-drowsy?

Title says it all really.

Need to obtain some Piriton non-drowsy tablets and wondering where my cheapest option would be.. Supermarket? Chemist?

Probably the cheapest option is to go for generic chlorphenamine (also seen as chlorpheniramine). It's the same active ingredient so unless you have any allergy problems with the other ingredients it will also be a cheaper option than the named brand

Do Poundland or B&M or Home Bargains sell Piriton?

There are much cheaper generic antihistamines , even in eg Boots, than Piriton, both with and without the same active ingredient. They are exactly the same, just without a pretty box.

But note that this is the version that legally must display the drowsy warning, dosed 6-hourly,

    Again chlorpheniramine.

Piriteze (non-drowsy) contains cetirizine, which is taken once a day. If drowsiness is a problem, I would suggest either this or loratadine, which is another once daily preparation. Both are available in 7s and 30s, at this time of the year you're unlikely to find a week's supply for less than 99p so I would head for a pound shop. Economies of scale can be usually be found as we approach the first green shoots of summer in April.

  • I found it reasonably cheap in my local Numarket - £2.70 for 30.

I only prefer the non drowsy cos I'm dippy enough as it is without minor sedation ;)

Thanks for all replies, different place to try that I wouldn't have thought of :)

    I buy Asda own non-drowsy, and I'm sure it's 79p for 7.

  • Piriton isn't non-drowsy.
