Why and how long for does a credit card app effect a mortgage application?

Hello,

Ive recently applied and been accepted for a credit card. I also applied and was accepted for a credit card 2 months ago.

Were going to be looking for a mortgage in around 2 months time.


So my first credit card will have been 4 months ago by then.
second credit card will have been about 2 months ago by then.

I have a very good credit rating, no debts, healthy deposit, thats me and my partner.

Why does a credit card app effect your mortgage chances?

How long does this last for?
