I bought a trifle to eat over Christmas but it is due to go out of date tomorrow and is unlikely to get eaten, I wondered if I would be able to frreze it?
i also have a tub of double cream, can this be frozen or will it split?
I knew they wouldn't get eaten but OH asked for them and now has said that he hasn't been in the mood for them !!!
I don't want them to waste and have asked mam and sister if they want them, but they are sick of stuffing themselves with Christmas food so it doesn't waste so don't want any more

Not sure about the trifle but you can always try it and see what happens. I freeze double cream but I whip it first.

I wouldn't freeze the trifle. Jelly doesn't freeze or defrost well (it can't set after being frozen so you'd end up with trifle soup).I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I would'nt freeze the trifle either,a disaster in the making,as for the cream don't freeze it unless it's firm whipped first or it'll just split on defrosting.0

You can freeze pretty much anything:).
The real question is what will it be like when defrosted.;)
In the case of trifle I would think the answer might be - unpleasant to look at but perfectly edible.0 -
A lot say do not freeze as they are frozen on manafacture, then put into chillers to sell.0
