Happy new year to you all. After grossly overspending last month I am determined to keep within budget in January. Things should be a lot quieter and I should have more time to cook and shop budget places than last month. Had to spend a small fortune on washing and cleaning productsat the end of December so not expecting any spend on non-food items this month. Good luck.

I've done my first supermarket shop since before Christmas today. I spent £23.27 in *sda. I need to go back on Friday and spend about another £7 on a top up, but that should be it until next week. Branston beans 4 big tins for £1 and Quorn mince £1 a bag were also on offer today. I have plenty of both so didn't need any, but thought I'd let you know in case anyone uses them.

I also have been reading this thread and would like to join. I would like to be able to cut down our food bills by quite a bit so hope this may motivate me. Please put me down for £150 for the month ending 28th january. So far we spent £6.21 so far in MrS but that did include 16 whoopsied Chicken breasts plus other whoopsied stuff for the freezer & and a bottle of wine to take to a family get-together yesterday. Will try to use everything left in fridge and hopefully if i do a biggish shop at Tesco to top up on basics and F&V then I will be able to stick to that. I think my being a bit stuck in the house with a bad ankle might make it easier to stick to budget :)

Also must make sure we organise a Dr's appt for OH regarding his Gluten free diet and getting his food on prescription as this should save us a packet too

    Afternoon all

Been and spent some money. Went to the shop for milk and onions and got...... milk and onions - I'm a very good person!!! Normally I would of looked at the cakes but I resisted lol

Hello to all the new people - keep posting and don't give up - its hard to start with as alot of us don't realise how much we spend until we take control, if you go over your budget don't give up, adjust your figures for next month and start decreasing your buying - bit by bit you will get there and remember we all have different budgets to suit our different needs and lifestyles
