Advice on Website set up

Options
Ive had an idea for a website but Im not sure if I would have any legal issues.

Essentially it is a raffle website. You buy a ticket for a chance of a prize.

Does it require any sort of license to run?

Cheers

One day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T

Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged. :(

Or maybe not:mad:

You would need to comply with all the gaming laws and requirements and would probably do well to consult a specialist lawyer

  • youll also need alot of visitors to buy enough tickets to make up the prize amount, if you had 100 tickets for a prize and only 3 were brought before the closing date then you would be out of pocket.

A lot of people have done that type of thing when they haven't been able to sell their houses.
It seems such a good idea to sell raffle tickets with the house as a prize.
I don't think any of them have been a success.

to be fair i was thinking of doing it with smaller items like laptops but with slightly high value tickets...so £10-£30. but only selling like 20 or 30 of them...so the odds are really quite good compaired with alot of placed. Or An I-pod worth £140 selling 20 x £10 tickets..smaller profits but less tickets.

Maybe I could use ebay to start with then set my own sight up??
