For those of you getting new or renewing your car insurance - make sure you do use the comparison sites (one of them I got £1.50 cashback from Quidco for just doing the comparison). I got lower quotes and called my current provider to give them the chance to match it. They tried and did knock of quite a lot (about £40 for the year I think it was) but it was still not cheaper so I changed. Its always worth asking if they can get it down to match another - they need your business too. If you cannot find one cheaper elsewhere they don't need to know that - if you tell them you were offered cheaper they have no way of knowing you are not fibbing. The worse that can happen is they say no, they cannot go lower. Nothing to loseNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

Hi all
I'm a bit late to join but this seems like the ideal thread for me, I'm trying to cut down my spending overall this year, but in particular I'm needing to save money for a trip to Prague in May. I reckon a couple of hundred should cover my spending money so I'm aiming for a very modest £2 a day. I signed up for a few survey sites last night, won't be counting the cash till it's in the bank though. Gonna look up all my old CDs on Music Magpie tonight, should be a fair few bob sitting in the cupboard!0 -

Hi misskaytee
When DH's car insurance was up for renewal I used the comparison sites like JesaRose said, but once I'd found the quote I wanted did it through a cash back site. I managed to save £60 per year on the insurance and get £45 cash back for the new policy. Good luck searching out a better deal.
I'm not doing so well this month as 12 days seem to have vanished, but at last I have listed some items on eBay. 8 down, about 60 to go :rotfl:I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
I knew this would happen- im getting ebayitus!
I keep checking every few minutes, just in case, even though theres 4 days left! Not doing to bad though, the surprise item is a Fat Face dress I bought for £1 at my local recycling centre(yes the dump!) is selling for £10.50 with 4 days left! Just need to keep it up and add to the wedding fund-its not looking too bad considering I started saving on the 1st.2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
