has anyone had side effects with a tetanus jab? a friend is complaining that his arm (the other side of where the jab was given) is hurting. any tips appreciated. also how often should one renew polio etc - is this every 10 years ? also in france they recommend when you do a repeat tetanus that one should do this with the injection that has other components in it such as anti-polio etc. does anyone know if there are any side effects? thanks

    Yes - i had the sore arm after tetanus jab. It is quite common I think. Lasts a few days. Shouldn't be so bad as to need any treatment though, just feels sore and a bit heavy.

    Don't know about the other question, but every 10 years does ring a bell

    Yes, my arm went very hard, swollen and painful after my tetanus jab!

    My first one made my arm very painful for a week

    My second one was a little sore but bearable.

    My husband has a very bad reaction to it.
