Bit of a random one this one but bear with me people
I have been entering loads of competitions and so far not won anything. My question is for those of you who HAVE won something how do they let you know you've won?
Is it by email? Post? Or telephone?
The reason i'm asking is I won't answer my mobile or home phone number if I don't know the number that is calling or if it is a private number due to having had some 'funny' phone calls. And now I'm wondering if that holiday to New York I had convinced myself was mine has been lost because of my phone phobia!

Hi, Nix
I have won quite a few small competitions, most of my wins come through the post with the Congratulations letter inside. I have on a few occasions entered text comps and they text back if I have won.
I have not won a holiday yet, so cannot say how I would be informed. Good Luck...If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Hi,
Ive won 2 comps in the last 2 months and one I was emailed about - found it in my junk folder - and the other competition I was sent a letter about - which was followed up a couple of weeks later by a phone call.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Hi Nix.
two comps I won were text comps so they notified by text. (x-box360 and ipod)
the other main comp I've won (champneys break) was an internet comp and they notified me by mail.
HTH and good luck in your comping:T0 -

A lot of competitions you recieve wtc = winning telephone call, these comps are normaly high value wins, hope this helps.0

I agree with Chelle333 - high value stuff tends to merit a phone call. All three holidays I won I found out by phone.
However, most of my prizes just turn up without any notification at all!0 -

Hi,
My two wins so far this week (!) have been by phone and email. They were both internet comps, however the one by phone was on the Friday evening for tickets that weekend so they had to call to make sure I could go.
In fact, they said I was actually the 11th person out of the hat (they had 10 winners) because one person wasn't answering their phone so they had to draw another winner - me!
When I won the big holiday comp a few years ago I was sent a letter by registered post. Had to go to the sorting office to get it and everything. It was dead exciting!!!

When I won the £400 they phoned me to check the address was correct and that I would be in when it was delivered. When I won the £100 it was just sent by recorded delivery with a letter in with it. When I won the holiday they sent me a letter and I had to ring them to confirm the date I wanted to go. When I won the Nintendo DS they rang me to confirm a delivery date. When I won The Cure tickets they emailled me and when I won the weekend in Cardiff they emailled me. The rest of the prizes were just sent with a letter in the package.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
