I am looking for some ideas here. I was a very lucky lady and got a Kenwood Chef for Xmas. It is all shiny and asking to be used and I just keep looking at it and smiling stupidly
I also got the ice cream maker and I am coveting a mincer/sausage maker attachment for my birthday.
It is this model:

I know that quite a few ladies here use kenwoods regularly and I am looking for ideas. What do you find it invaluable for.
thanks :T

Ooooh, welcome to the club!!!
I use mine all the time - mainly for the obvious baking/pastry making/ rubbing in duties, as well as for bread kneading. I tend to get the bread started in the Chef until it gets past the very sticky stage and when the kneading is nearly finished I'll do a bit of kneading by hand as I can judge better when it's ready. It's also easy to make killer mayonnaise in the Chef!
I have the grinder attachment (used for coffee beans/spice pastes/small amounts of breadcrumbs), the blender (used all the time for soups) and the pasta maker. The pasta maker is surprisingly good - I though it would be a white elephant but as the whole lot can go in the dishwasher it's used reasonably often and makes the best pasta.
I daren't get the ice cream maker for fear of my waistline!
Best advice is to plug it in and get stuck in to baking something!0 -

Welcome to the club from me too!
What can you make? Cakes cakes cakes
Because it was expensive I decided it would bever ever get put in a cupboard and it has to earn it's keep the same as everyone else (see, I think of it in human terms hehe).
Got the sausage maker and it's really good. One tip, when you're coming to the end of the run of skinning them, so you don't waste the meat that's left in the tube, shove a piece of bread down to get the last of the meat through. Just cook it for the dog or chuck it out for the birds

I bought the hand blender and chopper boxed combo for £25 yesterday as it seemed like a good deal for the brand (Sainsbury's had a BGTY version for £15), is this a recommended product?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Actually, I do count myself lucky:cool: There really isn't anything else that I wanted and FYI, I have a perfectly servicable dyson. Some of us get a great deal of pleasure from cooking and baking and it is as much a valid hobby as anything else
note to self, I really shouldn't rise to junk posts :mad:0 -

Another newby here. Yesterday I bought the same model as Mudgekin got for Xmas (great price from Comet as well) and along with the kids have already made muffins, cookies etc.
From having viewed the Complete Kenwood Collection link we made butter this afternoon from a pot of cream left over from Xmas. From a 20 oz pot we got 11 3/4 oz of butter and enough buttermilk to make a batch of scones.
I'd recommend making the butter. It's not something I'd ever considered before, assuming it would be messy and laborious. In the chef it took about three minutes flat.
Needless to say, more than pleased with the KC so far.0
