  • yes but sales are good and bad. they are good if it is something you need and can afford then you make real saving. but sometimes buying for next christmas is good idea but next christmas you forgot you had it and buy something more anyway.

I think people could have seen my thread there about being sorted untill 2012. I spent £60 in the disney store on sales compared to the RRP I saved £140 .The following day I went to boots and got all the adults presents on my advantage card so that was free :) The way I put it its money I am going to be spending anyway so I might as well save some in the process.
  • Ive bought a couple of items in the sales which I will keep till next year - I do it every year and find it a great help come November / December. Also bought all my nursery stuff in the sales as having a baby in May xxx

Spending in sales is fine. If you have the cash for it. If you don't then don't go near the credit card and don't be tempted because its on sale. the only thing that broke my heart buying was a George gill . Instead of cleaning my one I got into a fit and threw it into the bin ! :p

Spending money in the sales is better than buying the same items a full price a week before in the run up to christmas.

It's the indiscriminate spending that causes problems. As a rule you should buy items for the cheapest you can legally get then and if that involves buying your xmas presents for Dec 2011 now then it isn't a bad use of money.
