free bottled water in belfast

yeah mine is off, and has been since yesterday morning, no sign of it going on any time soon. also BT5
i find it very inconsiderate that firstly if you want water you have to be able to get to one of the sites, and secondly, once you get there, you wont get any unless you have something to take it in yourself!
although, my dad had the genius idea of going to a local park, bringing a whole load of buckets and plant pots etc and piling in all the snow and ice that was still about, it is currently in out bath melting to provide us with water which we can use to fill our toilet cisterns to have a good old flush!0 -
I'm in BT5 and our water hasn't been off at all....yet.0

BT8 may not be on the list but I'm in BT8 and mine has went off some time during the night, woke up to no water. Local shops have ran out of supplies and no car to get anywhere else. If I had know BT8 was going to go out I could have got something organised yesterday, now I'm sitting here with a young child and no water. Really hope it comes back on for everyone.0

Call me cynical but me thinks this will be the reason the Executive needed to bring in water charges, after all, it's through lack of investment that we have this problem and Scotland don't (according to the news). I could even go one step further as to suggest that not only will there be water charges but that there will be metering to make sure that people like us (BT19) who still have water get charged a hefty sum for filling up bottles for family who are travelling from Belfast for fresh water today.
Now I'm off for a long hot shower while I have the chance then out with the air freshener for when the great unwashed (my family) arrive down with their empty bottles. Is £1/litre enough to charge them?0 -
This may well be a good example of why we need to invest in the water infrastructure but I think people are going to be reluctant to pay anything to help out NI water after this kafuffle.
Personally I think people need to change the way they look at water in this country (if that doesn't sound too odd). I have the waterline as a contact in my mobile because I was tired of looking at water leaks that no one else reported. We are all responsible to make sure this society functions well and people have to stop thinking some mythical person is going to tidy up after the rubbish they drop or fix the water leaks they can't be bothered to report.0 -
I would be happy to pay for water if they actually do something that makes it drinkable in my area. Even after it's been filtered, left in the fridge overnight or put into cordial I still get a strong metallic taste off it. My mum has forgotten herself a couple of times and poured it straight from my tap and had to spit it straight back out. Every now and again I get a black hair coming out of the tap, I try not to think about what it belongs to

Edenderry Village has been off since yesterday morning and BT8 since this morning. Saintfield still has water atm but they're on the list to go off.The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
Oy, oy, I seem to have water, something wet & brown is spitting out of my tap... I hope to god it's water O.O
There's nothing now, oh well at least it was trying! The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -
I'm in BT28 and our water went off this morning at about 9 oclock. Luckily my 22 yr old daughter went and filled loads of pots and the bath yesterday so we are ok for the meantime.
I've just watched the news and I didn't like the colour of the water being given out at some of the venues.
I agree with some of the previous posters who said that they can see the assembly using this as an excuse to bring in the water charges sooner rather than later. I've no problem with that but not if they charge according to the value of my house. I want a meter. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. And how were the supermarkets meant to know that this problem would arise??? And that people would buy trolley loads of water on the 27th and 28th december. Wise up.
The problem lies squarely at the feet of ni water who should have foreseen this coming but were obviously powerless to do anything about it as I would imagine 90%+ of their workforce book xmas week and new year week off as holidays. Doubt it would have been such a big issue if it had happened in the middle of february when people were working.
Eh, no need to tell me to "wise up", thanks. The issue has been going on for more than a week, shops receive deliveries daily. Doesn't take a genius to make the intellectual leap and order a bit more in to anticipate demand.
Anyway, water is back on here. I hope it's the same for others soon!0 -
And in Gloucestershire in 2007, those without water were peeing into the bowser! FactEh, no need to tell me to "wise up", thanks. And the supermarkets marked up the prices0
