Recommend a workout DVD

Hey all

Can anyone recommend a good workout DVD out of the current bunch that are out? Or an older one that can still be bought?

Thanks

  • The only one I use now (after trying many!) is quite an old one. Its Harvey Walden and its called 'Fighting Fit, Fighting Fat' (or maybe the other way round!!). Its unchoregraphed and is a basic circuit training workout. You can get it on Amazon etc.

The only one I've managed to get on with and lose weight (2stone) twice (put back on with pregnancy, then lost again) is The All Star Workout, its a breast cancer charaty one and its easy to follow and has a warm up, aerobics (20 mins) cool down, then quite a few mini toning sections so you can choose which to do. However when I lost weight I didnt bother with any of the toning bits, just did the 20 min aerobics once or twice a day and that was enough.
  • I have been recommended Davina McCall's Power of 3 DVD and and 10 minute solution DVDS (just type 10 minute solution into Amazon and the range comes up in the search). I did try out Coleen Nolan's Disco Burn at school and it's quite energetic!

I did find a really good book in my local library too for the exercises called Shape up, Size down : target toning to look younger by Sally Lewis :). You may be able to borrow the DVDs from your local library or from a friend to try and find the *right DVD* for you.

I keep going back to the Claire Sweeney/Weightwatchers one! I think it's about 6 years old now but still on Amazon. It's very flexible and you choose the length of time you exercise for - from 10mins to an hour - and she is not annoying, unlike some 'celebs'! :p

  • Thanks all, I'll look into those. The library suggestion is good too as I have a few DVD rental credits on my library account so I may try before I buy!
