Value with work holidays!

Most of us who are on salary get an allocated amount of paid holiday per year, so it's nice to get good value out of them.

Due to the royal wedding in the coming year its possible to get 11 consecutive days off for an investment of 3 holiday days!

Here's how it works:

22nd April: Good Friday (Bank Holiday)
23rd-24th: Sat/Sun
25th: Easter Monday (Bank Holiday)
26th-28th: Book these Off
29th - Royal Wedding (Bank Holiday)
30th-1st: Sat/Sun
2nd: MayDay (Bank Holiday)

A nice long getaway? more hours at a second job? Lots of things can be done in this time!

Now's the time to book it though before everyone cottons on!
Credit card: [STRIKE]£2533.30[/STRIKE] £0 as of July '16!
Overdraft: [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE]£0 as of July '16!
Aim:
Save for a working trip to New Zealand leaving late 2016/ early 2017!

I booked the 3 days as soon as they announced it - got a mate coming over from the US that week. Looking forward to it.

As Sat/Sun are normal working days for a lot of people they would need to invest in more holidays.

this is true, i was kindof working on a 9-5 mon-fri salary assumption. Obviously it does depend on your job and industry

Sadly yes. I have in the past had a Friday and Monday bank holiday off but had to work the intervening Sat/Sun

I always have this week off as it is birthday, and always goes into a long weekend for may day...this year, before wedding was announced, i relinquished it for my colleague!
  • It hasn't been decided if we are having the day as a bank holiday yet - they would be stupid (our States) if they went against what the UK has decided as we wouldn't be able to do any banking etc.

The bummer for me - I have deadlines on the 30th so with the 29th being a possible day off, I now have less days :(

The upside for us is, we get an extra day off on 9th May to celebrate our liberation from the Germans
