Lo-Salt in Rock Crystals?
I use the lo salt, but have aquired a lovely set of grinders.
Does anywhere do any lo-salt rock salt for grinders?
I tried putting lo-salt in the grinder, it dribbled out:o

You could try dissolving Lo-salt in water and letting it crystallise out-the trick to getting big crystals is to let the water evaporate slowly.import this0

Can you explain further?
Dissolve it in what warm water?
How do I make it evaporate? Leave it somewhere warm? Put it in the oven?0 -
I haven't actually done this...but yes, dissolve in warm water. As a general principle, the slower the crystals form, the bigger they should be, so leave the bowl in the kitchen or by the fireside for as long as it takes and resist ALL temptation to prod and stir. I think the oven might evaporate the water a bit quickly-you might just end up with white scum (that is, even smaller crystals than you have already).import this0

potassium chloride which 66% of lo salt is made up of just doesn't make large crystals or if it does I've never seen it in all my years of working in labs - its always fine crystals, the rest is sodium chloride btw - so not sure if it would work to evaporate it off, you might end up with a few flakes that would crumble rather than grind'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Have you thought about Himalayan salt crystals.
Quote: Why use Himalayan salt?
Himalayan crystal salt can be consumed as a mineral water by dissolving in water, dissolved in a hot bath for a healthy soak and detox, or it can be put it on your food or in cooking, instead of the standard table salt. All of these things help to maintain the bodies natural balance. Table salt however is primarily sodium chloride with additives and consumed in excess which is very easy to do with today's lifestyle, when used in excess is detrimental to health and generally not recommended by doctors to be added to food, as most foods contain enough salt. Himalayan crystal salt is suitable for those who require a low sodium diet or those who want to enhance their health with a healthier alternative rich in minerals. Himalayan salt and water (sole) will help detox the body and balance the bodies pH.

My mother-in-law is a nutritionist in Canada and told me about it for my high blood pressure. I don't use a great deal of salt anyway but when I do this is what we all use in my family.
Just to add... Lakeland sell it...

I think this stuff is actually just salt. Expensive salt with a lot of strange claims. The claims about higher vibrational energy levels from this salt are just pseudo science word soup.
Their other products on offer such as magnotherapy products, mobile phone radiation blocking stickers and jewellery that apparently absorbs harmful radiation don't encourage me to trust the site either.
Definitely save your money. Salt is salt. It's all bad in excess.
I eat very little salt now (I have the symptoms of eating too much from lower amounts than most other people), which had led me to discover the taste of salt gets stronger the less I eat. Most processed food is inedible now because it tastes like nothing but salt. Chances are, if you cut back your taste perception of salt will change too.0 -

Seen Himalayan salt in B&M (Bargain Madness) a few days ago. It was priced at a few pence, 59p comes to mind.0 -
