Hi DBG, just wanted to wish you a happy new diary and hope the debt busting goes well. Well done for not splurging in the sales, I haven't done either, am also on the debt busting route and I know it sounds terrible but I just can't be bothered to wade through all the hickldy-pickldy sale racks. Maybe next year though I will be debt free and ready to save some cash on clothes buying in the sales! I guess when I have money to spend and not thinking I should put that towards my debt, I will be bothered to look through the sales. It was either my Mum or Nan that once said to me that a bargain is only a bargain if you need it - I try to remember that!
Dave - I don't get that contactless card thing, surely that's not very fraud safe, if that makes sense? I won't be using my card as a contacless card!£9,000 (Ish) in 2013

Hiya cakelover! Your mum/nan's advice is very sound
I remember some of the tripe I've bought in the sales before, a fair bit that never got worn and just passed onto my sister, it's shocking really! I like your siggy line, I'm a very negative person too and I'm really trying to mend my ways with the "positive thinking will bring positive things" mentality. What are your debtbusting goals for the year?
I've somehow managed to make another couple of small ebay sales so £6.69 to the padding pot, my little pads and all the money made from ebay etc is sitting in my "savings" :rotfl:account ready to be knocked off the hbos card at the end of each week. Also bought my wee bro something online with the money he got for Christmas, went through quidco so if it tracks I should have around a tenner's cashback heading my way.
A nice start to the year

Well I am being good! Decided I would browse what's left in the sales on Accessorize and Boohoo, see if I could pick up anything cheap for my sisters birthday. It's not till April but she's 21 so I'm buying 21 things, just little bits and one more main one. Put a couple of things into my baskets for her, then also some for myself. Left it for a few minutes then closed the windows and am still on a NSD :j
Then decided to go browsing ebay for completed listings as to what's selling at the moment, saw far far too many things that I [STRIKE]need[/STRIKE] want, so I'm headed off the net to go and prep bits for ebay to take the temptation away. I'm supposed to be de-cluttering and making money not bringin other stuff in and spending what I've made
I'm also getting very impatient for my cc's to be updated so I can update my signature properly. Darn holidays! The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Boots! Thanks for the reminders, I've got £15 worth of gift vouchers for there, might have a browse and see if there's anything left. I've got £6 of luncheon vouchers too, do they have to be used on food in boots/tesco?
My reasoning for behaving was that the odd things for my sis weren't really that much of a bargain once p&p was taken into consideration, which meant me putting bits in for myself that I KNOW I don't need so it all just got left. Browsing's still fun though.
Well done both of you on picking up the bargain pressies! And for being so organised, something I'm greatly lacking.
I'm going to get myself into a nice relaxing bath with some lush stuffs (always a safe option for people buying me anything and I'm nicely stocked up after xmas
) well, I will once the postie's been! Then I'm going to make a start on photographing and listing the wee pile of bits that I got together for ebay last night. I'm having a big de-clutter, and even though I chucked/sold/donated lots of stuff before packing it into boxes to re-decorate the room I'm still managing to get shot of lots. I don't have a clue how I do it :rotfl: The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Woop! Another £5.50 profit from an ebay sale, and I've said I'd do a little overtime at work which will give me £22.50 extra a week for however long I'm doing it for. Not overly enthusiastic about doing it, but the more I earn the more I can throw at the cards

More photo-taking and write-ups tonight for me, the theory being that it's sitting there getting in my way and even if it's just pennies I'm getting for some stuff it's better than nothing and I'm keeping myself busy with the listing. Does that make sense or am I just crazy! The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Doing slightly different and extra! hours at work today. I nipped home for a bit and was going to chill out and possibly have a nap (I sound so old :rotfl:) but noticed that it's free listing on ebay this weekend so I'm digging the camera out again and trying to defrost my fingers cos it's snowing here again, to get as much prep work done for then as possible. If it's not listed it def ain't going to sell! The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time
