The good: being able to visit my family on Xmas, even if it did mean an hours walk in the ice and snow!

The bad: London Transport ruined boxing day.
The tubes were on strike, there was no overground and no trains. I had to wait an hour just for a bus to drive straight past...it was full. On trying to get home at the end of the day I set out early (shops closed at 6pm I left at 5.15pm). It would normally take me 1.5 hours on the bus. I have not long gotten home. It took me 5.5 hours!
It was mainly buses refusing to work because they said they were "too full" yet I have seen more packed out buses in normal everyday rush hour! And they were not a patch on how crammed the tube gets! One bus driver decided to sit and "wait for the police" as there were too many people on his bus. He sat there for a full 45 minutes, the bus was not that full but sitting with the doors open it later became full. 20 mins later another bus parked infront of him and blocked out exit, he had also decided not to move because he was "too full". Having moved no more then 200yards in an hour I decided to walk.

I don't actually know who I am angry at more: the buses for being so anal (the above was just one example in a long list: another bus driver refused to stop at a main stop in Oxford street, when I asked him why he told me "its not safe, there are too many people..." (not safe at a bus stop. In Oxford Street where everyone wants to get off the bus!)) or the tube drivers who already have a £30K plus salary yet still want more just for doing their job: many minimum wage staff work boxing day and do not get a penny more, I did so for 3 years. I worked as it was in my contract, I'd lose my job if I didn't yet tube workers want more then triple what I got and then more?! Think they have lost all public respect now personally. Its going to be an easy ride for Boris to take them down (if he ever does anything!)

The (very) good: My wonderful carers who have trudged through snow and ice to reach me.

The bad: Tv and washing maching broke this week, but then that's also good because I've now been brought into the 21st century and am the proud owner of a flat screen tv.

Haven't been impressed by the High Street sales. Peacocks had hardly anything on sale, Debenhams main discounts were just 20-30%, the 50 and 70% off items were few and far between and nothing nice/suitable left (ie bra sizes) and very underwhelmed by the M&S selection. Argos not much on sale either although I have reserved a bogof fleecy blanket for £7.99, half price. Got some nice things online at Boots, all 50% off.

Xmas eve picked up 2 pairs of slippers in BHS for £6 total, £10 rrp total. Also a lovely nativity set in Lakeland for £3.99, wanted it when it was £9.99 but couldn't afford it.

The Good: Sale bargains, a top in New Look I was going to buy when it was full price and for some reason didnt - reduced from £12 to £4! Result :D

The Bad: Having to pay £7-odd for something in Boots that Asda had on offer for £2
