Ingredients
7 apples plus lolliepop sticks
250g sugar
120ml water
2 tbsp golden syrup
30g butter
red/green food colouring
dissolve the sugar in the water in a sucepan on the hob.
when dissolved stir in the rest of the ingredients
bring to the boil for a further 5-8 minutes
meanwhile, put the apples on sticks ready for coating
after 8 minutes the toffee should be very gooey
dip the apples in (one at a time) and twist and turn the apple until fully coated.
Leave to set/cool on a lightly oiled baking tray
When cool wrap in celephane (do not wrap in celephane before cool as the celephane melts to the toffee)
Apples should keep for 2 days or so

Don't know if this is too late... I get toffee etc from pans by filling the pan with water (enough to cover the depth of the toffee) then bring it to the boil. This usually dissolves the toffee residues unless you have really seriously overcooked your toffee.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

I tried this recipe today and my toffee didn't set properly
I boiled it for 20 mins and it was still only at soft toffee consistency
Anyway ...thought what the hell, dipped the apples and coated them in sprinkles. They still taste good:j
The left over toffee is in the freezer to see if I can get it into lumps.;)I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0
